Waxwing Perching bird that lives in the northern hemisphere, and have crests that (raise in alarm) and sleek brownish gray plumage with flecks of red and pigment resembling wax on the wings and the a yellow band on the tail tip. The Cedar waxwing, commonly called cherry bird and cedar bird, breeds throughout most of Canada and the United states.

The Bohemian of greater waxwing is widespread throughout North America found chiefly in the North . The Japanese waxwing is confined to East Asia.
