Tanager Migratory perching bird, mainly from the tropical New World. Five species migrate to North America ; which include the scarlet tanager, having the widest range in the United States.

As like other tanagers, the male has brilliant plumage. It is scarlet with black wings, tail, and beak; the female is olive green and yellow. Also the song is less melodious than that of the rosy head tanager of the South. the Western or Louisiana tanager is yellow, black, and red.
