Ermine Species of the weasel, which has a white winter phase of fur. It most commonly refers to the short tailed North American and european stoat . There white pelts are made into wraps, coats, trimmings.

The black tipped tails are used in America as ornament, and in Europe they used the ermine of Royal ropes.
