Aardvark There are two species one in central Africa and the other in southern Africa. The aardvark, is about 6 ft. long , and has a long snout, large erect ears, and almost is naked with sparsely haired body, with a long tail.

Its forefeet are adapted for making borrows in the ground and for clawing open the nests of ants and termites in order to capture the insects with its sticky tongue . Its cylindrical teeth are without enamel and roots. It is also called ant bear and earth pig.
